2025-08-26The Riyadh Municipality is implementing a package of 13 development projects across 45 municipalities throughout the region, as part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade local and collector roads in the provinces and centers of the Riyadh Region. These efforts aim to facilitate traffic flow and enhance the quality of infrastructure.
Through these projects, the municipality seeks to improve road efficiency, provide a safe mobility environment, and support urban growth across various provinces. The scope of the projects spans a wide range of municipalities, including locations where work has already commenced, such as Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Al-Houta, and Al-Hareeq. Additional municipalities include Rumah, Al-Uyaynah and Al-Jubailah, Ad-Diriyah, Huraymila, Al-Muzahmiyah, Durma, Sajer, Al-Quway'iyah, Al-Jilah and Tibrak, Al-Ruwaydah, Al-Majma’ah, Al-Artawiyah, Al-Ghat, Az-Zulfi, Al-Ahmar, Al-Haddar, Al-Badi’, Al-Hayaniyah and Al-Birk, Al-Aflaj, Al-Qasab, Marat, Ushaiqer, and Shaqra.
The projects are being carried out according to a timeline that considers the geographical distribution and specific needs of each municipality. The municipality utilizes advanced digital technologies, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), interactive maps, and aerial imaging to ensure quality execution and improve monitoring and field tracking efficiency.
The Riyadh Municipality is committed to adhering to engineering and technical standards to ensure integration between residential neighborhoods and the existing road networks, and to promote balanced urban development throughout the region.
These initiatives fall under the municipality’s broader goals of enhancing infrastructure and improving the efficiency of municipal services, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and the municipality’s mission to build a thriving, sustainable city that elevates quality of life.
